Working for the People of Georgia’s 22nd Senate District
Senator Hardie Davis is currently serving his third term as State Senator from the 22nd District of Georgia. Hardie previously served two terms in the Georgia House of Representatives.
He is a lifelong Georgian who comes from a long tradition of public servants, military professionals, lawyers, and preachers.
Hardie grew up understanding the importance of hard work as he watched his father Hardie Davis Sr. work 50 and 60 hours a week to take care of a family of four children. It was his mother Delois Davis who instilled in Senator Davis the importance of helping others as she worked tirelessly helping families throughout Augusta during times of tragedy and distress as a volunteer at church and the Joseph M. Still Burn Center.
Senator Davis earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech prior to pursuing a doctor of ministry degree at Christian Life School of Theology. Both of these degrees have served him well in his role as a statesman, public servant, engineer, and pastor.
Hardie is married to the former Evett Plather and has one son, Benjamin J. Davis. The family resides in Augusta.
